MIPC History
MUHABURA INTEGRATED POLYTECHNIC COLLEGE (MIPC) is a private Technical Institution located in MUSANZE District, Northern Province. It aims to serve the educational needs of our country Rwanda and worldwide through excellent technical and professional programs. The school also provides access to high quality education that promotes students learning, enables and develops their fullest potential, and supports national economic growth and sustainable development.

Academic programs in advanced diploma has 4 main programs:
Civil Engineering
1. CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGY
In this program, the student’s areas of study include among others:
- Construction materials & Concrete Technology
- Construction Management & Building Services
- Soil Mechanics, Foundation & Geotechnical engineering
- Architectural Drawing & Computer Aided Design (CAD)
- Structural Analysis, Detailing & Design of Reinforced Concrete, Steel and Timber structures+ Construction technology
- Construction & Concrete Technology and Construction Management
- Measurement and estimation of Civil engineering works
- Highway engineering & Engineering Surveying
2. WATER AND SANITATION TECHNOLOGY
In this program, the student’s areas of study include among others:
- Construction materials , Measurement and estimation of Civil engineering works
- Construction technology and Management & Computer Aided Design
- Hydrology, Hydraulic engineering and Hydraulic structures ; Irrigation Engineering & Drainage
- Water Resources and Solid & Hazardous Wastes Management, Air Pollution Control,
- Engineering surveying , Urban Drainage & Sewerage System
- Water supply and distribution & Domestic Water and Sanitary Appliances
- Water quality analysis and laboratory &Water treatment and Sanitation Technology
- Environmental chemistry and Waste Water Treatment
- Cold and Hot Water Supply systems & Water Supply To High Rise Building and Piping Systems
3. QUANTITY SURVEYING
In this program, the student’s areas of study include among others:
- Construction Materials, Strength of Materials& Soil Mechanics
- Measurements of Civil Engineering works
- Cost and Estimation & Financial Accounting
- Construction and Building economics
- Construction Technology& Concrete Technology
- Engineering Surveying theory & practice
- Workshop Practices in Quantity Surveying & Construction Technology
- Property Valuation & Construction Law
4. LAND SURVEYING
In this program, the student’s areas of study include among others:
- Basics Topography and Surveying Equipment &Topographical Surveying
- Surveying Mathematics &Surveying CAD Softwares
- Land Information Management, Land Development; Administration Law &Physical Planning
- Principles of Quantity Surveying &Highway Engineering
- Elementary Geodesy, Astronomy and GPS
- Cadastral Surveying and Mapping
- Geodetic Survey& Geodatabase creation
- Geo-Information System (GIS) and GPS applications &Remote Sensing
Information and Communication Technology
We Offer The following
The two options offered in the department of ICT include;
Information Technology(IT) and Digital Media Production (DMP)
1. Information Technology (IT)
In this option the students acquire skills in:
- ICT Essentials; PC Maintenance and Computer Literacy.
- Data structures and Algorithms
- Computer Programming Languages (C, Java, C#, Python, PHP)
- Web applications Development
- Mobile applications Development
- Networking and Network Security
- Database Management Systems (MySQL, Oracle, Postgresql)
2. Digital Media Production (DMP)
Under this option the students acquire skills in:
- Camera Operations
- Video Production
- Audio Production
- TV Production
- Graphic Design and Animation
Electrical and Electronics Engineering
Currently, the department of EEE offers three years of training in the option of Electrical Technology, Electronics and Telecommunication Technology, Electro-mechanical Technology. In addition to that, the department offers Vocational training in all its areas.The Department is equipped with modern laboratories and Workshops equipment in respective thematic areas.
1. ELECTRICAL TECHNOLOGY (ELT)
An electrical technician will be involved in designing, developing, and maintaining electrical control systems, machinery, and equipment. The technician is working in a very wide range of sectors, including transport networks, power generation, transmission and distribution, and building services.
2. ELECTRONICS AND TELECOMMUNICATION (ETT)
Electronics and Telecommunication technicians use their technical expertise to provide a range of services and engineering solutions revolving around different modes of communication and information transfer, such as wireless telephony services, radio and satellite communications, internet and broadband technologies.

MIPC Main Goal
Our main goal as MIPC, we chose to be a little bit unique at the beginning from other colleges and Universities in our province by specializing in Hospitality and Tourism, Civil engineering, Electrical Technology , ICT and Business studies aiming at producing well qualified trainees who can compete successfully at job market.
