This 14th September 2024, The Rt Rev Dr Mugisha M. Samuel, Visited Moma Archdeaconry in Burera District and confirmed 416 Christians. The Bishop shared from Colossians 2:4-10 He emphasized that we must be rooted in Jesus Christ that’s when we grow spiritually.

The Diocese through Moma Archdeaconry supported the family of a Single Mother who has 3 Children by giving her 24 Iron sheets for her residential house. The Vice Mayor of Burera District represented the mayor and appreciated the partnership existing in social economic development of our people in the district.

It was a beautiful day and a big crowd of Christians.

On this date of 15/08/2024 The Bishop of Shyira Diocese visited Jomba Archdeaconry in Bushoka parish and jointly confirmed 348 Christians and 207 from Rugendabare Archdeaconry.

The Archdeacon of Rugendabare was the preacher of the day, in his message he focused on (Colossians 2:6; 7).

The day was concluded by visiting the new pastors house under construction and see the progress.

Shyira Diocese Concluded three days Youth Camp at BUHUGA Secondary School

Shyira Diocese Jomba Archdeaconry Buhuga Secondary School held a three-day Youth Camp from 07-09 August 2024. The camp aimed to teach the word of God, fight against drugs, and prevent unplanned pregnancies.

Over 450 youths from four districts participated, with the Rwanda National Police presenting information on drug abuse by DPC of Gakenke IP NGORORANO Samuel. Over 115 youths decided to repent and stop social evils.

The Diocesan Team lead by Administrator Rev. NIYONGABO Charles who represented the Bishop of Shyira Diocese concluded the Camp

Today Thursday of 8th August 2024 , was a great day for the Shyira Youth leaders as they gathered for a Youth camp held at Buhuga Secondary school in Jomba archdeaconry in Shyira Diocese. The Archdeacon Ven. Nambaje Alain with the Diocesan HR Rev nkundabashaka and other Pastors called upon the Youth leaders to rise and serve the Lord with their talents and energy when they are still young. They shared the message from Timothy 4:12 “Don’t let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers.“

Among other things the youth urged to keep away from temptation that can ruin their health, character and future plans, such as drugs, adultery leading to unwanted pregnancies . They were encouraged to find jobs and think of development projects that the church can support to become Job creators rather than job seekers .

Many thanks go to the Gakenke district leadership which was represented by Police leaders .

The Officially dedication of a new church named St Paul’s Mukamira Parish and Confirmation of 126 Christians

This Sunday on 21 July 2024 was a dedication of a new church named St Paul’s Mukamira Parish in Mukamira Archdeaconry

There was also confirmation of 126 Christians, the preacher of the day shared from 1 Corinthians 13:11 he emphasized on spiritual growth.

The Diocese of Shyira supported the family of NYIRABIRETI who is a single mother by building her a house. In attendance were Local leaders of Nyabihu District.

Today July 19th 2024 His Lordship The Rt Rev Dr Samuel M Mugisha made a Pastoral visit to Gitare Archdeaconary in Rukoro parish,
where he confirmed 300 christians.

It’s a parish near the Ugandan Boarder Cyanika. There was a big congregation that turned up and many choirs.

In his sermon, the Bishop quoted the Gospel according to St John 5:1:15 where Jesus healed a crippled man who was sick for 38 years.
Jesus told him to pick up his mat and go and was healed. The Bishop reminded Christians that devil doesn’t want people to enjoy life. He makes us crippled but Jesus is ready to heal us of any disease.

Pentecost was cerebrated today May 19th 2024 in St John the Baptist Cathedral where the Rt Rev .Dr MUGISHA M Samuel reminded the congregation of the importance of Pentecost.
He said it’s a historical event which marks the birth of the Church where the disciples were filled with the Holy Spirit to go and share the Gospel. The Bishop asked Christians to be filled by the Holy Spirit and bear fruit and do God’s work. Among other things done in the service was the baptism of infants and thanksgiving of a team of women that help in decorating the church (Gloria flower team). The Bishop concluded asking everyone to bear good fruits as Paul mentioned in Galatians 5:19-23.

This 5th Sunday After The resurrection of our Lord and Savior our beloved Bishop The Rt Rev Dr.Samuel M Mugisha together with his visiting Bishop from Kigali The Rt Rev MUVUNYI Louis visited Jomba Archdeaconry in ear Shyira diocese.

The purpose of The visit was Praying for the new Archdeacon Ven. NAMBAJE Alain also witnessing the progress of the new church building project . The visiting Bishop was the guest preacher using Romans 12:1-2 . He Encouraged Christians to offer their bodies as living sacrifices in doing God’s work at the same time using their talents in serving God.

The congregation were happy to receive the men of God who came to worship with them.

This year’s Easter Sunday service which marked the end of March 31st 2024 was Avery colorful service, the main celebrant and the guest preacher was our Beloved Bishop Rt. Rev. Dr. MUGISHA MUGIRANEZA Samuel Basing his sermon on the gospel according to St Mark 16: 1 following where Jesus is risen… The bishop reminded the congregation that what brought Jesus was to save us God has allowed me, you, and everyone to enjoy and celebrate Easter of 2024 and many other celebrations God has allowed us to enjoy. The Man of God Concluded and told each One during this Resurrection let us Walk with Jesus. To sing with gladness

The Tour Visit of the Bishop of Shyira Diocese together with the Diocesan Departments visiting the construction of Kabyaza Parish

Today on 23/03/2024 The Rt Rev Dr Mugisha M Samuel led a delegation of 40 Diocesan leaders who work in different Diocesan institutions and departments on a tour to visit 2 beautiful storied churches under construction in Gasebeya Archdeaconry Burera District.
The purpose of the visit was to see the progress of those churches and to support to speed its completion. One of the churches (Kabyaza) is located in the area at University of Global Health Equity Butaro and the students are part of the congregation.
In his sermon, the Bishop encouraged Christians to give wholeheartedly as one way of thanking God for what He has done for them. His emphasis was from Hagai 1:1-10 (A call to build the House of the Lord).
The day was joyful and God helped everyone in attendance to contribute towards the construction of these churches .
Burera District local leaders were also present.
Continue to pray for these 2 big churches coming up on the hill of Burera District.
